Vicki and I hit the road to day to see more of the things we passed on while Cody and Autumn were here. We started at Fort George, an active base on about 42 acres. Very nice and we enjoyed walking the perimeter, taking pictures and looking for dolphins in the nearby river. We saw a few dolphins - at a distance - and the rain eased up a bit.
This is a lighthouse across the Firth from the fort.
Fort George also had some very interesting vegetation.
But the best was yet to come. We found a spot for lunch on our way called Boath Garden Cafe. It was gorgeous. It’s evidently someone’s former estate turned into a hotel, restaurant, etc. The lunch was good, but what was amazing were the grounds. There were flowers, some herbs, and fruit, and we ate outside.
The day could have ended there, and I’d have been fine. But we had ruins to visit, so on we went.
But I’m pooped, so I’m going to bed. Part II tomorrow.
