The last little bit to the top. The path was not paved all of the way.
I failed to mention that before we climbed, we had a lovely breakfast at The Olive Branch. I have to say that this was the best meal that I have had since leaving NC, but it made the climb a little harder. And I didn’t have my walking sticks (WHY can’t you take those on a plane???), but I did have Cody and Autumn to help me down the slippery rocks at the top.
Eggs Pacifica (with Scottish smoked salmon)
After the climb, we hopped back onto the Hop On, Hop Off (one of our favorite ways to get an overview of a place) and met Dan (who did not climb Arthur’s Butt) at the Edinburgh Castle.
The Unicorn is Scotland’s National Animal. This one sits outside of the War Museum, a tribute to those who fought in the Great War.
As we were leaving the castle, we caught a gorgeous rainbow.
Dinner was Indian (it was a *great* day for food), and Dan and I went back to the apartment and to bed. Cody and Autumn went out to have young people fun at a whisky bar.
And today, we are en route to Fort William to ride the Jacobite Train to Mallaig. And Cody is driving. ππ»ππ»ππ»

Joy is knowing about your wonderful time together and seeing your pictures.
