...this time, it's to Scotland (Scotia, Alba, Caldonia, The Land of the Brave). Dan has never been; I went as a reluctant and recalcitrant teenager. This time, I am going as a recalcitrant adult, which makes a lot of difference.
Maybe.
Our plans are to travel in the Highlands, which used to belong to the same mountain range (the Central Pangean Mountains) as our beloved Appalachians, where we now live. Then the continents shifted a few years ago (see below), and here we are.
Today, at home, it's raining all day. Seems that we are getting a preview of Mother Natures plans for us in Inverness for the next several days:
Our adventures begin tomorrow, September 18 with three flights and a long (8-hour) layover in Amsterdam. Thanks, Delta. Cody and Autumn join us the next day, at which point we will load up (*I* am driving the car - manual, not automatic - on the other side of the road, so I'll try to record some of Dan's screams along the way for you) and head out for a bonnie time! Hope that you will follow along.

ReplyDeleteI love that we can comment anonymously with pithy remarks about your exciting adventures. Eight hours in Amsterdam with jet lag sounds like an awesome beginning.
ReplyDeleteWe’re looking forward to seeing your adventures! Amazing that you’re able to do 3 weeks on 2 retired fixed incomes!!! Might not be able to afford as many pubs as you did in Ireland!!! Stay well and travel safely 😎🍾. Joey & Tricia 💙
